Monthly favorites: September 2013

Make up

I told you last month that I had styes in my eyes and I wasn't able to wear makeup... And the situation is still the same. It sucks... But anyways, I have two makeup-related items on my favorites.

Disposable goupillons have been a very helpful thing for me lately. I don't want to contaminate my eyelash mascara and this is perfect for it, I try not to use make up on my eyes until they're completely healed, but sometimes I still want to look a little more presentable. These ones are from eBay, I bought them here a long time ago for working, I didn't know they would be this useful.

My other beauty favorite is this Effaclar purifying foaming gel from La Roche Posay. I needed to find a product for cleaning my face, my skin is very oily and it is also incredibly sensitive and reactive so I'm always scared to try new things, but I usually use Efflaclar duo, another product of La Roche Posay and as they both are from the same product line I decided to try this and I am very happy with it. It cleans very deeply the skin, it feels so good and I can notice after a couple of weeks using it that my oil problem is a lot more under control now.

My unquestionable favorite pieces of the month are these lovely sneakers. You must be new here if you still don't know that I love them to pieces, I can't add very much, you saw me wearing them on this look and this look. Their name is Hiya fyi :)

I bought the Sex and the city collection at the start of the month on Amazon. I wanted to buy it from so long ago and I'm so happy I finally did! I always loved this show, it's very fun. This concrete collection was pretty cheap, but it's perfectly complete and I think it's lovely.

Also, when the month started Dexter was my other favorite... But it's not anymore after watching the finale. I can't believe how they did it, I am so disapointed. I really think that Dexted had to end after the fourth season. I mean, the sixth one was pretty good (still not as good as the four firsts) but the rest was crap and the end was bullshit. They just broke it.

Fortunately the Breaking bad finale was simply perfect and it ended being another of my september favorites.

I have three winners for my most listened songs of this month:

A little note about the "books of the month" post... This month I won't be doing it because I didn't read that much (as I predicted, sadly, because I've been so very busy...) but of course I'll continue with those type of post, maybe every two or three months depending on the number of books I'm able to read.

And that was that! I hope you enjoyed xx

OOTD: Forget the princess

I beg your pardon, I can't help it, I need to wear my hiya sneakers all the time. I can't get over of making black+white+pink looks with them. Sorry, I'm not sorry.

OOTD: Summer owl

It sounds like a bad joke, but I swear that the summer just restarted. I told you I was worried for the fall to not coming and it seems like it's happening. Damn, I don't like the very hot summer weather and it won't leave me alone :( Anyway, this is a fake-autumn outfit, it seems like a little more cover up look, but it's actually very fresh for the heat. Again, as I told you on my autumn is awsome tag, I can't wait for wearing jumpers. Please, fall, come on! I'm waiting!

Style icon: Olsen twins

What can I say about the Olsen twins? I am a very big fan of them since I was very little. First it was It takes two, then Two of a kind, some years later Our lips are sealed... I loved all the stuff they made and after all of that... finally came their bohemian styles. I think they were the first boho chic kind of girls I saw, and they always wore it better than any other one in my opinion. This two lovely identical girls are -next to Vanessa Hudgens- my biggest bohemian inspiration. It was very, very hard to choose what photos to show, because I  really love a billion of their looks, so it was inevitable to end up showing you a big amount of photographs. I really hope you like these resume-collages I made.

They're gorgeous, aren't they?

They were two of the firsts celebrities that started the enormous sunglasses trend few years ago. It was rare to see this kind of sunglasses on street style back then but I always loved it and I still do.

I really like their fashion taste for dressing up, it's always chic and sophisticated but they're not afraid of trying new things and getting out of the box.

There is a lot of black and white inside their closets, I identify myself with that haha.

And last but not least there it is their street style... God, I looooove it all.

If you want to see the collages better, you can click on the images. I hope you enjoyed :)

OOTD: Last friday night

I promised I would be doing more "special ocassion" or a little dresser up outfits and I keep my word as you can see :P
As the title (and Katy Perry) says, this is from last friday night. I chose this outfit, pretty simple and sober for going to my friend's party in his house. It was just a little group of friends having fun, nothing too fancy. I had a great time and litas were the perfect confortable shoes for the occasion, as they always are, I danced a lot and my feet didn't hurt at all. God bless them and their creator mr. Jeffrey Campbell.

A couple of photos I uploaded to instagram:

The dinner was incredible, everyone brought different food and it was all delicious!

We had the need of pose as DJs of course.

OOTD: Neon grunge

I think the name of the outfit is very self-explained. This look is a very obvious new grunge look in my opinion. I'm very moved for this -new grunge- style lately. I hope you like it ;)

TAG: Autumn is awsome

This tag was created by 87daysbefore, I thought I would be fun to do, so let's get started :)

1. Favourite/least favourite thing about fall?
My favorite thing about fall has to be fashion. I love to add the "cold accesories" to my outfits: tights, gloves, scarfs... Also I love that it isn't as sunny as summer, neither as hot as summer. I can't choose between these two fall facts.
My least favourite thing about autumn is actually that here we hadn't had autumn last year. I mean, really, it was summer and then PUFF it was winter, no middle process. Same thing happened to this last non-spring. I was wearing my warmer coat and then one day PUFF it was summer. So I'm very scared for missing fall again.

2. Favourite clothing item for fall?
As I said I love to accesorize for cold weather, but as item per se, I guess jumpers are what I love the most on this season.

3. Favourite makeup trend for fall?
Dark lips. Always dark lips. I actually wear them on any season, but whatever.

4. Favourite fall food/drink?
I don't know, I don't change my drink preferences for the season, but I think a hot coffee tastes so much better when it's cold outside.

5. Fall tv show premiere you're looking forward to most?
It was Dexter, but this last season it started on summer so I don't know... I follow a lot of tv shows and all year I'm watching premieres so it's a difficult question. Well, this year I have to say that I'm very excited for the second season of The Carrie diaries, isn't it the cutest show ever!?

6. Favourite fall tradition?
After thinking on this answer for 5 minutes I think I have to say that I haven't got fall traditions. Who knows, maybe this year I'll create one or something, I'll keep you informed ;)

OOTD: Some like it leopard

Did I tell you that I love Hiyas to death? Well, I do. I love them for casual outfits, I love them as an excuse to wear pink, I love them with neutral colors. I love them for going to school, I love them for going out. I love them. And I love them on this outfit, I think they take it from casual to edgy. I picked a leopard skirt with a leopard skull tshirt (too cool to be true) because I'm a leopard freak, I've always been and always will be a leopard freak and I'm not even ashamed to say it.

Haul: eBay rings

I like to have some good quality jewelry, but I also like to buy cheap pieces, especially rings, to wear once in a while, kind of trendy stuff that I know I won't like forever but I still want to have to spice up my hands.
All of the rings I'm showing you today are from eBay, 1$ each. Except for the 4th and 6th that are painted in black, all others are that type of ring that will leave your fingers green if you wear them a lot.
A little trick that I learned is to cover all the inside part of the ring with a trasparent nailpolish, that way it won't transfer that green-ish poo to your hand and it will last longer. Still you can't wet them. As I said, they're bad quality, but they're fun.

1 - I bought it here. This is one my favorites.
2 - I bought them here. It's a pack for 9 rings: silver, rose gold and gold, but I don't like gold on myself so those I gave to a friend. They're supposed to be knuckle rings, but they're too big for me, so I wear them like normal rings.
3 - I bought it here. This is my other favorite one. It doesn't look like 1$ ring at all.
4 - I bought this one here.
5 - I bought it here.
6 - I couldn't choose just one, so I bought two of them. Here.
7 - A little bit of color is sometimes necessary. I bought it here.

They're all from different sellers, all of them from China and they all arrived in 2 weeks aproximately.

OOTD: Let me out

Oh, surprise, surprise, another school/casual look. I'm sorry I'm a little monothematic lately, I promise I'll be photographing more interesting looks soon. I hope you like it anyway. I really like this outfit, it's very comfy. This jumper is one of the biggest loves of my closet, I missed it in summer.

OOTD: Coral reef

I feel like I have no middle choice, either I'm going all black (with white usually) or I become completely colorfull. Well... maybe what I think it's colorfull it's not for everyone, though. I have always wore a lot of black so outfits like today's are a colour bomb for me ;)

Summer haul

The summer in oficially coming to its end so I decided to recap the clothes I bought this season in a couple of pics. Those first three pieces are from the Pull&Bear summer sale.

The jumpers are from the boy section, but I don't care, that's perfect for me because I love oversized sweaters and I plan to wear them to death in winter. I needed to buy cozy stuff because it gets really cold in the city of my school and last autumn-winter I realized that I don't have enough thick clothes. About the little palm tree cape, I didn't have any -kind of plastic material- coat and I think it will be usefull for rainning days.

1 - Asos green midi skirt. It's made of a wool-like material. It's so beautiful, I haven't wore it yet because it's still too hot for it, but I can't wait! I think it will be one of my favorite staple pieces this autumn-winter.

2 - Long burgundy skirt from eBay. I'm in love with it, I wore it a lot in summer and I plan to wear it with tights while it's not too cold.

3 - Metallic mint pants from Bershka.

4 - Bambi t-shirt from Primark. Because you never have too may t-shirts...

6 - Pegasus t-shirt from Primark. That you've already seen on this look.

7 - Multi color button up dress from eBay. I'm sure you know this piece because everyone and their mother have it, but I love it anyway and I couldn't stop myself to buy it.

And that's it. I made other purchases that I showed you already like my black bag, the Fredas, the Foxys and Hiyas, a couple of thing from Top Shop... And I'm pretty sure that I forgot to include on the photos at least two or three more items but anyways, that is most of it. I hope you liked it.
See you soon xx

OOTD: Hype the hiya

I couldn't help but wear the Hiyas the day after they arrived. I'm already loving them to death, they're so comfortable and perfect for school.

Maybe it seems weird that I have to go to school with flat shoes when I'm obviously not a teenager haha. I don't really "have to" wear flats, I mean, I can wear whatever I want, the thing is... my freaking school is pretty far from my home and I'm going to this particular school because it's the only school with caracterization studies here.
This is what I need to do every morning: 15 minutes walk to the train station, 20 minutes of train ride, 40 minutes of another train ride and then 30 more minutes walk, 6 hours of class and then repeat all the steps in reverse order. So as you will understand I "have to" wear flats. And that's the reason why I love the Hiyas that much, because they're fun and pretty and still valid for my everyday trip :)

Double shoe unboxing: Jeffrey Campbell Foxy & Hiya

Last week I recieved the Nasty Gal purchase I made between 2 and 3 weeks ago.
You can't even imagine how nervous I was for this package to arrive because it was the first time for me shopping shoes in US size. I don't even know my EU size because it changes in every brand. It changes even in the same brand, my Litas are EU40 but I needed EU39 for Fredas. So I was quite scared... but oh thanks god they both pairs fit me perfectly, so I'm the happiest woman in the world :) I chose US9 if you're wondering. I think 8'5 would be better maybe, but 9 is ok anyway.

But let's get in the important thing... The shoes.
Both pairs came amazingly prepacked, as usual for JC's shoes Foxys were on their individual dust bags, full of paper and keeping their beautiful shape, no wrinkles at all on any part of them.

Jeffrey Campbell Hiya - Hawaiian/Floral

Here you can see the the high of the platform, they're like 3 and a half fingers tall. They're pretty high, but not enormous (4'5 cms).

Jeffrey Campbell Foxy - Rainbow

As you may know Foxys have the same shape as Litas with cutouts that tranform them in Lita's sandal version, or at least that's how I see them. You can see here that they have the exact same heel length. (6cms platform. 13cms heel.)

If you haven't guess yet I love them both to pieces.

I really hope you liked it :) Thanks for your visit!
